We edited parts of the SerialYunMove sketch and replaced the batteries. The 9v battery has more power compared to the 1.5v batteries, so we used the 9V battery for troubleshooting. Unfortunately, it appeared that we gave it too much power, so we removed the 9v battery.
We tried using different methods to get the Yun shield wireless network to appear, but they didn't work - plugging the robot to the laptop, using different batteries to give it more power. In the end, we replaced the batteries with unused 1.5v batteries, but it still didn't work.
After a long wait, the wireless network finally appeared. We tried out the edited SerialYunMove sketch, and it was a success. The robot can now be controlled using the keyboard through a wireless network.

Goal
  • Control the robot's movements by using the computer's keyboard and the Yun Shield
Programs written
  • SerialYunMove

Summer 2 Internship 2018

07/05/2018 Zachary managed to finish redesigning the extending claw. While the overall mechanism is now smaller than the original, it still has some of the same issues; the claw itself is too bulky and two motors may be needed to raise or lower the arm. After building the prototype for the launcher Deepa started working on the launcher by attaching it to the base. the base that I built using mecannum wheel and four motors for each and to increase the speed of the motors I used the chains and sprockets. 07/09/2018 Zachary is working on a prototype for the arm's turntable and lifting mechanism. Depending on the length of the lifting mechanism, he should be able to mount the arm on or near a corner of the robot. This should help resolve any mobility and dimension issues presented by the original approach, as well as make loading the launching mechanism easier. The lifting mechanism's concept can be described as "a glorified lever." The extending claw will be ra
Bergen Community College Robotics Spring Internship 2017 Initially, the old robotics team would like to welcome some of the new members into the team. OLD TEAM NEW TEAM (Members of the old team are only missing from the picture, not the team) Oh and we missed tyler, so here he is...... New Members: Deepa Banjara Alexandra Cortez Tyler Laursen-Carr The BCC STEM Robotics Team is developing a ball launching robot using Autodesk Inventor for design purposes and Robot C for programming purposes. The team has developed 4 major concerns about the design for the robot. First, the robot must gather the balls that are laying on the ground. Second, the robot must feed these balls to an elevator. Third, the elevator must elevate the ball to the launcher. Fourth, the launcher must be able to have varying angles in which it can launch the balls. To account for all of these factors, the designing team had to draw some sketches and ideas on the board for
