January 07, 2019 During the summer internship, I had to make several changes to the robot and it was really hard to switch the idea between one technique and another. So this time I decided to learn 3D designing and build the 3D design of the robot. It will help me to manipulate the robot by using different function. 07/05/2018 Zachary managed to finish redesigning the extending claw. While the overall mechanism is now smaller than the original, it still has some of the same issues; the claw itself is too bulky and two motors may be needed to raise or lower the arm. After building the prototype for the launcher Deepa started working on the launcher by attaching it to the base. the base that I built using mecannum wheel and four motors for each and to increase the speed of the motors I used the chains and sprockets. 07/09/2018 Zachary is working on a prototype for the arm's turntable and lifting mechanism. Depending on the length of the lifting mechanism, he should be able to mount the arm on or near a corner of the robot. This should help resolve any mobility and dimension issues presented by the original approach, as well as make loading the launching mechanism easier.
